Yesterday was the final wedding of 2012 for me and this morning I woke from my haze and stepped from my bed looking a little like Bambi taking his first steps. As I sat by the pool with a coffee going over my list of to-do’s, my heart suddenly leaped into my throat. Not only had I forgotten to buy my only nephew a Christmas gift, I knew it meant I would have to brave the shopping centre on Christmas Eve to track one down.
Perhaps I was too busy enjoying gingerbread men while watching Hallmark movies to take care of my list making this year. Having now experienced a shopping centre on Christmas Eve morning, I can guarantee it will never happen again.
So here we are on Christmas Eve and I’ll be getting things ready for hosting Christmas lunch tomorrow and we’re off to my parents for dinner tonight. One of my favourite Christmas traditions that I hope will never end. I am officially taking a little break from today until the new year and plan on lazing poolside with a cocktail and good book or two. I do still have a lovely year in review post to come and of course will be working on the next issue of Loveliness which will launch in mid-January. Its jam packed with summery goodness and I can’t wait to share it.
Have a lovely Christmas friends. May all your wishes come true!
