It was while Nikki and Simon were serving in the Royal Australian Navy that they met. Simon was posted to the ship Nikki was working on and they ended up working in the same department. Simon immediately ticked all the boxes for Nikki. Athletic? Check. Cute? Check. Ridiculously hilarious?? Check, check!
While they were deployed in the middle east a short time later, Nikki and Simon tried to spend as much time as humanly possible with 200 pairs of Navy eyes on them. However when they returned home 6 months later, they went their separate ways with Simon not yet ready to commit to a serious relationship.
But as they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder because not long after Nikki returned to work after a holiday in Europe, they began dating again. While shopping one day, Simon instructed Nikki to wait for him and when he returned he was baring Nikki’s favourite flowers and told her he loved her. Nikki knew from that moment on, she would spend the rest of her life loving Simon.
This April, Nikki and Simon will tie the knot at the Old Brewery and I couldn’t be more happier to be a part of their day. We spent a little time in Fremantle last Friday for their engagement session and got to know each other a little better.
