We have now been in Paris for 3 nights and in a word, it is simply parfait. We’ve rented a pied-a-terre in the 9th Arrondissement that is making us feel very much at home while we live a Parisian life as much as we can.
This morning I woke to the sound of children on our small street, making their way to school, laughing and singing (and one particular pair of brothers getting into trouble by their mother for fighting on the street) before walking to the corner pâtisserie for croissants and pain chocolat for breakfast. Yesterday we visited a flea market near Marais and ended up all coming home with vintage finds and bags full of the last of the summers stone fruit and berries that smelled and tasted unlike any fruit we had had before. We have been walking so much around this beautiful city and doing so much shopping, I feel as if my feet are going to fall off but every so often we look at each other and say, “Holy shizz, we’re in Paris!” and it just doesn’t matter.
I have been taking plenty of pictures bien sur, but I thought for now I would share just a couple of our apartment and our neighbourhood.
