Watching Shannon and Trudy become husband and wife earlier this month was about more than two people starting a new chapter in their lives. As they wed, their families and cultures merged and I was honoured to have been able to document these events on their first day as a married couple.
Many of my couples book me online and Trudy and Shannon also did so we didn’t actually meet until the day of the wedding but having corresponded online I felt like I knew them both already. I commented at one stage to Trudy that she was marrying into a family of huggers and she had to agree. Shannon’s family are always glad to see you and greet you with a warm hug. At the end of their wedding day my cheeks ached from smiling and my eyes had welled with tears more than once and it is a pleasure to relive the day all over again now.
